A centre for religious celebrations, this church is a symbolic place to all the inhabitants of the Unia tribe. The church is the same size as Saint Joseph’s Cathedral in Nouméa and well worth a visit.
Built in 1888 and covering the same surface area as Nouméa's impressive cathedral (and designed by the same architect), it was erected with the help of the military who were in the region at that time.
