Built in 1883 as the hotel “La Chaumière”, this building in La Foa is a historical gem. Room no. 9 was a hot topic of conversation in 1942, when Admiral d’Argenlieu was taken hostage there for two weeks. Nowadays, you can sleep in one of the renovated bungalows, or in a room or studio. This establishment boasts one of the most acclaimed restaurants in the region, renowned for its seafood and Gascon specialities. With over 5,000 caps hanging from the ceiling in the bar, its decor is truly unique! The owners also offer guests the opportunity to go hunting in New Caledonia as an additional activity.
