Beautiful architecture (colonial house)
The construction of this beautiful residence, located at the end of the village and facing the Thio river, dates from the years 1875-80. The building first housed a hotel-bar-restaurant intended for civil servants, miners, and sailors working in this very industrial site. Subsequently the house was acquired by Louis Page in 1934. Page used part of it for his personal accommodation while he opened a hardware store.
Roger Gaillot, former Mayor of Thio, and his sister, then became owners of the "Maison Page", and so it remained until 2006, when the municipality acquired the property. After major restoration work, a media library was inaugurated there in 2012.
