The ASPMHNC hosts guided tours of the former Tiébaghi mining village every Thursday and Saturday morning. Led by passionate heritage enthusiasts, this visit takes you back to the time when diverse communities lived side by side.
The town of Koumac owes much of its renown to its mining activity – an industry still alive today. Among its heritage treasures lies the former Tiébaghi mining village, which closed in 1964. Thanks to the dedication of the North Caledonian Mining and Historical Heritage Association (ASPMHNC), the site has been preserved with several restored buildings and carefully protected artefacts.

As part of their mission to raise awareness of this unique heritage, the ASPMHNC organises guided tours every Thursday and Saturday morning. Lasting around 3 hours and departing from Koumac’s Point I, the visit offers a fascinating journey back in time to when communities from different backgrounds lived and worked together.
