Hnaenedre, 98878 Maré
The Yeiwene Yeiwene Cultural Centre is named after the pro-independence leader from Maré, who was assassinated with Jean-Marie Tjibaou in 1989. It is located near the megalithic fortifications of Hnaenedre.
The Yeiwene Yeiwene Cultural Centre at La Roche presents paintings and sculptures of Kanak art. Temporary exhibitions of traditional Kanak art and various other entertainments are offered to the general public throughout the year. It is located near the Hnaenedre fortifications, a monumental megalithic structure, made from coral blocks, whose construction dates back some two thousand years.
